The XLarge was the original original
version of the MA Roller which was created by the inventor of the MA
Roller in the 1970's.
Only a limited amount were created, and then the more practical (for
everyone) MA Rollers were created, which is what we
call the Original MA Roller (small). The Xlarge is the Heavy Duty
Professional MA Roller, while the regular (small)
Original MA Roller is the one that has been selling since 1970, and
which we consider the Father of all Massage Tools,
as it was the 1st massage tool invented in the Massage for Everyone era
(beginning in the late 60's), when massage therapists
and natural health food stores (not vitamin shops) started sprouting
out all over the country.

Imitations are not the same!
In our most recent shipment, we have actually received the original,
original MA Roller, that
uses almost twice as much wood as the MA Roller which was marketed in
the 1970s. The Xlarge MA Roller offered her is
actually the original design of the MA Roller, but were not marketed
because of the extreme cost of manufacturing them. So what we
have all known as the MA Roller for 35 years is actually the step child
of what we now have in stock.

HOW TO USE THE MA ROLLER:
To use, lay on the ground with the Ma Roller underneath your spine.
Allow it to remain stationary penetrating any portion of the neck or
spine with soothing relaxation, breathing into the stretch.
Or slowly roll the Ma Roller up and down the spine, stopping when
appropriate.
ENERGY
MATHMATICS IN THE MA ROLLER
The shape of the MA roller is of an archetypal form which in the body
of man has metamorphosed itself into the various bone
structures as in the sternal notch and the clavicles, or as the
pituitary fossa and the sphenoid bone just behind the eyes and the Guru
Point. It is the form of a winged bird of flight.
It represents that energy in man capable of propelling his evolution
towards an even higher form.
Basically, it is the form of the parabola, whose limbs reach
out to infinity, crossing and coming back.
This has created two conic shapes capable of acting as
energy collectors to bring energy
from outer space through the YU points into the very depth
of the inner organs.
The energetic part of the above statement is easily
verifiable with pendulum dowsing
over the different parts of the Ma Roller.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
There are 3 fundamental lines of energy which the
Ma Roller stimulates:
The central line of the spine which is gently stretched and
the two lines on either side
on which are found the acupuncture YU points of all the
internal organs.
YU means to transport. By stimulating these points,
energy is transported to the internal organs.
These three lines are known as the Cadeusus or the Staff
of Mercury in the West.
At the nodes are found the seven chakras or energy centers
of the body.
In these centers are located man's essential energies
which can be utilized equally for healing and for his
development.
The Central line is connected to the central nervous
system, that is, the brain and spinal cord
and the nerves which issue to the muscles, skin, eyes, ears,
nose, and other external sense organs.
It is more concerned with the conscious voluntary functions
of man.
The two lines on which the YU points lie are connected to
the autonomic nervous system.
It is this nervous system which regulates the vital
functions of the internal organs, the beating
of the heart, the secretion of the glands, the rhythmic
movement of the stomach and intestines and so on.
It is concerned with the more unconscious involuntary vital
processes.
These two lines course up the neck, over the crown of the
head to end at the inside corners of the eyes.
They join up with the central line and other so called
extra-meridians at "the Guru Point,"
the stimulation of which in initiation or by the needle can
put one into spontaneous meditation.
Thus the two systems of nerves are related like day to
night. They complete a circuit of energies.
However, there may be tensions and blocks everywhere on the
way.
The Ma-roller brings in energy to free these tensions and
blocks, to restore the natural flow of life.
All of the Original MA Rollers offered here adhere to
this acupuncture principles.
Other imitation MA Rollers may not be in accordance to
the proper measurements, but still work to some degree.

These are some
alternatives to the MA roller that are available.
The Max Roller and Spine-Aliner are pictured above.
Instead of being made from pure maple wood, they are made of
alder wood.
They are then colored with linseed (flax seed) oil.
The grooves are NOT quite the same as the MA
roller, but they do work for some people.
When
the Ma-roller was first introduced in 1976, many of the
enthusiastic customers suggest that a traveling version wihtout the
wings should be made available to as a compromise for greater
portability and for use while traveling seated.
Just insert the Mini-ma
between the backrest and the small of your back alowing the notch to
straddle your spine. Lean backonto the Mini-ma and allow the fingers to
dig deep into the muscles of you back, helping them to give you a
massage. Shift position now and then. You will arrive fresh
and reaxed even after a long journey.
Naturally, you can also use
the Mini-ma as a compromised version of the Ma-roler by lying on it,
stimulating the three fundamental lines of energy known to every
ancient culture of the world, helping you to very deeply relax, body
and mind.

in the early 1970s and then sold to the Ma-Roller Company in about
1980.
